Shipping/Receiving Supervisor

Job Description

Summary/Objective

Plan, organize and monitor the shipping of all items ensuring a smooth and consistent operation so product is shipped in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external requirements. This position also supervises and coordinates activities of workers responsible for picking product and preparing it for shipping. This position works very closely with the Receiving Manager.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain a personnel structure and staffing level to accomplish the shipping mission in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Interview and recommend applicants for hire as shipping associates.
  • Plan and coordinate work, train and motivate, monitor and evaluate performance of shipping personnel; ensure their ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage configurations; counsels, records and disciplines as necessary.
  • Maintain an equipment structure and level to accomplish the shipping mission in a safe, effective manner.
  • Monitor the loading of product onto trailers; ensure materials are staged for counting and inspection; ensure shipping reports accurately report product shipped.
  • Resolve discrepancies regarding packing slips and Bills of Lading.
  • Oversee the movement of material from the warehouse to the staging area in an efficient, effective and safe manner.
  • Ensure materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures.
  • Ensure FIFO inventory management is being followed. This will include managing inventories in the warehouse as well as inventories stored on trailers or at other warehouses.

Physical Demands

This position requires the ability to occasionally lift products and supplies, up to 50 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. Some overtime is to be expected.

Plastic Process Technician

Mount Pleasant, IA 52641

The Process Technician is responsible for coordinating all production related activities to ensure the successful startup of plastic injection molding machines. With a complete understanding of how to change molds and trouble-shoot sounding alarms. They are to continuously monitor conditions on the production floor to ensure a safe work environment, best practice, highest level of quality, and on-time delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Perform basic computer skills (IQMS, Microsoft Office, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of the various types of molding strategies

  • Work well independently, as well as in a team environment

Responsibilities:

  • Complete all setup, teardown and changeover practices.
  • Communicate in a team environment with production associates and other related departments. (Toolroom, Changeover, Maintenance, Material Handling, Engineering) to ensure highest levels of quality and efficiency are met.
  • Monitor production schedule and prepare for upcoming runs (i.e. tool, material changes).
  • Communicate with the Scheduling Department as needed to review changes and other suggestions for optimal run conditions.
  • Inspect machines and auxiliary equipment to ensure desired operational performance and safety.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization on and around the production floor.
  • Ensure that all checklists and paperwork are complete with each new startup.
  • Other tasks assigned by the Molding Manager and/or Manufacturing Manager.

Automation/Maintenance Tech

Develops and improves automation processes by studying products, manufacturing methods and secondary operations. Also helps with plant maintenance and special projects throughout the shift. Ensures smooth and efficient production operation during the shift.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Design and fabrication of automation equipment
A. Design and build EOAT for our robotics
B. Design and build any fixtures or nests needed with automation
C. Design and build any guarding needed to enclose the cell

2. Develop automation programs and program robotics
A. Integrate any secondary equipment into the process
B. Troubleshoot any programming or equipment issues

3. Responsible for all robotic and related equipment maintenance and preventative.
A. Perform general maintenance to avoid possible failures and malfunctions.

B. Assist in developing preventive and corrective maintenance programs
C. Analyze repair requests and troubleshoot them.
D. Complete daily work assignments in a timely and accurate manner.
E. Maintain complete records of maintenance activities within IQMS.
F. Insure work area is clean and safe after all performance.

4. Help resolve maintenance issues on the floor when requested.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Time is to be spent focusing on PM activities and general equipment repairs. This will include daily walk a bouts of the floor and constant interaction with all employees to help insure smooth operation and awareness.
  • Operate maintenance equipment safely to avoid accidents.
  • Maintain the maintenance tools and equipment in safe, clean and good working conditions.
  • Provide assistance to co-workers when needed.
  • Attend job training and safety programs organized by Lomont.
  • Adhere to company policies, safety regulations and OSHA requirements
  • Continuously look for ways to improve our maintenance program.
  • Help foster teamwork throughout the shift and from shift to shift.
  • Assist in production as needed or necessary.
  • Assist with Machine startups when necessary.

Quality Technician

Job Requirements:

Monitors production runs throughout the entire facility in compliance with all documented procedures while evaluating documentation, inspecting products, and recording data.

Job Duties:

  • Assure consistent quality of production by assisting in the development of production processes, including creating and updating production documents.
  • Validates production processes through inspections.
  • Assist production by determining product quality standards for new and existing products.
  • Communicate with customers regarding product quality concerns, and provide customer with applicable documentation/reports as necessary.
  • Conduct visual and measurement tests/verifications to ensure products comply with quality standards.
  • Review production paperwork to ensure operator and Team Lead measurements and tests are within prescribed tolerances.
  • Train Team Leads in relation to quality requirements, gauging practices, etc.
  • Conduct receiving inspection as required.
  • Disposition nonconforming product and create rework instruction and/or deviations (both internal and customer-approved) for nonconforming product as appropriate.
  • Assist with PPAPs (capability studies, inspections, gage R&Rs, PFMEA, control plans, etc.) under the direction of a Quality Engineer or the Quality Manager.
  • Initiate and complete corrective actions.
  • Assist with gage calibration.
  • Review inventory and correct discrepancies.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Reading, writing, and basic math skills
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to interpret blueprints/engineering drawings
  • Ability to communicate well
  • Proficient with various gages
